About Us

D.D.Rahate Shikshan Va Bahu Uddeshiya Sanstha’s Smt. Sindhutai Jadhao Arts & Science Mahavidyalaya, Mehkar was established in 1997 with the mission of making quality higher education accessible to rural students, especially women. The institution was founded under the visionary leadership of its Founder President, Hon'ble Shri Pratapraoji Jadhao, an eminent Indian statesman, agriculturist, and currently serving as the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Inspired by his commitment to educational equity and social development, he established the Dharmaveer Diliprao Rahate Shikshan Va Bahu Uddeshiya Sanstha to address the educational disparities faced by rural communities. The college was founded to create opportunities for higher learning, empower young women, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the region.

The college is affiliated with Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. Since its inception, the institution has been committed to empowering women through quality higher education and fostering their holistic development. It strives to make higher education accessible to students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring that financial or academic constraints do not become barriers to learning. In keeping with its mission of inclusive education, the college extends admission opportunities to students belonging to socially and educationally backward communities, supporting them in realizing their academic potential through a nurturing and student-centric environment.
