D.D.Rahate Shikshan Va Bahu Uddeshiya Sanstha’s Smt. Sindhutai Jadhao Arts & Science Mahavidyalaya, Mehkar was established in 1997 with the vision of promoting higher education among students from rural areas, particularly girls. The institution was founded under the guidance of its Founder President, Hon'ble Shri Pratapraoji Jadhao, who is an Indian politician and agriculturist serving as the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Recognizing the numerous social, economic, and geographical challenges that prevented rural girls from pursuing higher education, he established the Dharmaveer Diliprao Rahate Shikshan Va Bahu Uddeshiya Sanstha and founded the college to provide accessible, quality higher education and empower rural youth through academic excellence.
The college is affiliated to Sant Gandge Baba Amravati University. The aim of college is to provide education to the girls for their overall development.
