Welcome to Smt. Sindhutai Jadhao Arts and Science Mahavidyalaya, Mehkar, Dist. Buldana, Maharashtra, India!

It is my honor and privilege to extend a warm greeting to you as the Principal of this esteemed institution. Established initially as an all-girls college, Smt. Sindhutai Jadhao Mahavidyalaya has a proud tradition of empowering women through education. Today, while our B.A. programs continue to be exclusively for girls, our B.Sc. programs have embraced co-education. Despite this change, our college remains a preferred choice for young women, with over 80% of our students being girls.

Mehkar, located in Dist. Buldana, Maharashtra, is a region rich in historical significance. It is in close proximity to Sindkhed Raja, the birthplace of Matoshri Jijabai, the revered mother of Shivaji Maharaj, a legendary figure in Indian history. This historical connection adds a profound sense of heritage and pride to our institution.

We are proud to share that in June 2023, our college was reaccredited by NAAC Bangalore for its 2nd cycle and received a B+ grade with a CGPA of 2.68. This achievement is a testament to our commitment to quality education and continuous improvement.

As an institution affiliated with Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati, we are dedicated to offering high-quality academic programs and staying aligned with the university's standards and guidelines. Additionally, we are pleased to offer some courses in distance mode through Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik, expanding access to education for our students.

In our ongoing dedication to expanding educational opportunities, we are excited to announce several new programs. Starting from the academic year 2023-24, we have introduced postgraduate courses in M.Sc. for Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Microbiology, and Computer Science. Additionally, from the academic year 2024-25, we will be launching B.Com. programs in both English and Marathi medium, as well as M.A. programs in English and Marathi. These new offerings reflect our commitment to providing comprehensive educational experiences that meet the evolving needs of our students.

We are also delighted to celebrate the achievements of our faculty members. Dr. Santosh Kute, Head of the Economics Department, has been elected as a member of the University Senate. Dr. Vaishali More, Head of the Home Economics Department, has been elected as a member of the University Board of Studies in Home Economics. Their election is a testament to their dedication and expertise and enhances our college’s representation at the university level.

Our faculty members are dedicated educators who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the classroom. They inspire and guide our students to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.

Beyond academics, we encourage our students to engage in extracurricular activities that contribute to their overall development. Our vibrant campus life includes cultural events, sports, and various clubs and societies that offer opportunities for students to explore their interests and develop new skills.

As we continue to embrace change and innovation, our focus remains on providing a learning environment that prepares students for future challenges. We are committed to excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring that our students are well-equipped to make meaningful contributions to society.
