The Department of Environmental Studies

The Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati Ordinance No. 42 OF 2005 called “Examination in Environmental Studies leading to Bachelor Degree, Ordinance, 2005” came into force from the Academic session 2005-06. The conditions prescribed for admission to examination under this Ordinance applied to following degrees of the University from our College.

Bachelor of Arts

Bachelor of Science

Bachelor of Vocation (from 2019)

Environmental Studies is a compulsory subject for a previous year examination of the Bachelor Degrees, i.e. Second Year of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science & Bachelor of Vocation. The examination of the compulsory subject Environmental Studies will be held in the fourth semester of all the degree Courses.

Examination will be conducted on the basis of one common question paper for all Bachelor Degree examination courses irrespective of annual or semester pattern.

For teaching of the subject, there will be at least two hour per week. Certificates will be issued, to the successful examinees in the subject Environmental Studies, after the examination.

Program Specific Outcomes

To enable the students to know the Multidisciplinary nature of environmental studies subject.

To enable the students to understand the Social Issues related to the Environment.

To enable the students to study the relation of Human Population with the Environment and the Role of Information Technology in Environment and human health.

To acquaint the students with the nature & importance of Renewable and non-renewable resources of energy.

To enable the students to know the Concept of an ecosystem, Biodiversity and its conservation, Environmental Pollution.

To instill the virtues of ethics, integrity and social responsibility in our graduates, and be ready to take up viable mission for the national cause.
